Proof of concept for Sports Saturday, a new product focused solely on Chicago sports—from rec soccer to high school lacrosse and professional leagues of every kind. Spearheaded by the venerable Nancy Hannon and then CEO Edwin Eisendrath, we sought to break the mold of a traditional newspaper by experimenting with just about everything: visual treatments, sponsored content, even types of coverage. My role was to deliver overall look and feel, title lockups, photo treatments, charts, writing not-great-but-super-punny headlines, etc...
